Steps

1
Done
  1. Preheat a deep bottom pan, which is bigger than your cake tin on a low flame. (For “No oven version”)
  2. If you are baking in an oven, preheat your oven at 170 º C.
  3. Line 8 inch cake tin with parchment paper.
  4. Make sure all the ingredients are at room temperature.
2
Done
  1. Sift flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl and keep aside.
3
Done
  1. Measure and powder the sugar.
  2. Take room temperature butter and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Beat them together for good 10 minutes until butter – sugar become light and fluffy. (It will change its color to whitish and beating sugar and butter really well is so important for the best result).
4
Done
  1. Add vanilla.
  2. Then add one egg at a time. Add one egg and when it incorporate with the butter mixture, add in the next and when it combined well add the 3rd egg.
  3. Beat the mixture for another 2 minutes to combine well.
5
Done
  1. Now add half of the flour mixture to the batter and mix slowly (just to combine) and add half of the milk and mix.
  2. Then the rest of the flour and followed by the milk and combine.
  3. Don’t over mix the batter once you added the flour. You can mix them either with your spatula or slowly with the hand mixer or stand mixer. Make sure not to have any unmixed – dry flour left at the bottom of the batter.
6
Done
  1. Now add the batter to the prepared cake tin.
  2. Keep a ring to the big pot which you already preheated and keep the cake tin on it (refer the pic).
  3. On a lowest flame Bake them for 45 to 50 minutes or until skewers comes out clean.
  4. If you are baking in an oven, bake them for 35 to 45 minutes or until skewers come out clean. Each oven time may vary. So keep an eye on it at 30 minutes.
7
Done
  1. Keep them on a cooling rack and cool completely before you cut them.
  2. Enjoy with your tea/coffee
